Geography - Mountains, Deserts, Forests, Rivers and Climate of Pakistan
Pakistan has extremely varied geography, from deserts to the world's highest mountains, and LAT tests specific superlatives (highest, coldest, longest, largest) related to this geography.
Mountains and Passes:

- Muztagh Pass is the highest pass of Pakistan, at about 6,000 meters.
Deserts, Forests and Jungles:
- Thar is the biggest desert of Pakistan, and ranks 9th in the world by area.
- Changa Manga is the largest jungle and also the largest forest of Pakistan.
- Junpur is the oldest forest of Pakistan.
Rivers and Water Bodies:
- Blind dolphins are found in the Indus river of Pakistan.
- Hamun Mashkhel Lake, a salty water lake, is located in Balochistan.
Climate extremes:
- Skardu is the coldest place in Pakistan and also receives the heaviest snowfall in a year.
- Murree has the area of highest rainfall in Pakistan.
- Jacobabad is the hottest place in Pakistan.
Borders and Language:
- Pakistan shares its longest border with Afghanistan.
- Baluchistan has the longest coastline of any province.
- The total length of the 'Line of Control' (dividing Pakistan and India in Kashmir) is 720 km.
- Brahvi is considered the oldest language of Pakistan.
Why it matters: These questions test very specific superlatives that can only be memorized, not derived β Skardu alone answers three different superlatives (coldest place, heaviest snowfall), so recognizing the pattern of repeated answers helps recall under exam pressure.
